Museo Descubre Project (2023) - Nissan , Gobierno de Mexico
Aguascalientes, Mexico
In 2023, I undertook a project at the Museo Descubre, a hands-on, interactive museum located in Aguascalientes City, Aguascalientes, Mexico. The museum bridges the gap between fun and education, allowing visitors to engage with exhibits that demonstrate the principles of energy through direct interaction. As a project initially funded by NISSAN and supported by the Mexican government, Museo Descubre is dedicated to making science and technology accessible to all.
The Challenge
Six months after its debut, the museum faced the challenge of relocating to a new venue, necessitating adjustments to accommodate new height measurements and flooring. Our team at Andata Lab took on this challenge by integrating Arduino technology and utilizing software like Processing to achieve the desired interactive effects. We also optimized the visual experience by replacing projectors and reducing the media server complement to a single gx 2c for eight outputs.
The Result
The project featured seven distinct rooms, each offering a unique thematic experience. One of the highlights was the Ohm Interactive Laser Sculpture, which used light sensors and Max/MSP for music programming to synchronize audio and visuals in real time. This added a new layer of interactivity and visual impact, educating visitors on the interplay between music and light.
The Success
Setup Duration: 9 days in Aguascalientes
Visitor Engagement: Over 80,000 visitors
Social Media Impact: 200-300 Instagram stories posted daily by visitors

The Experience
Visitors were greeted with a variety of interactive installations that activated as they moved through the museum. These installations included advanced VR and AR experiences, as well as dynamic light, sound, and object applications. The project seamlessly integrated traditional projection technology with modern servers and graphic engines to create a cohesive, immersive experience.
The Solution
To enhance the visitor experience, we created real-time content that responded to the position of visitors. This allowed for dynamic interactions within the space, making each visit unique and engaging.
